사랑을 십자가에 못 박아 달라는, 제목 그 자체가 하나의 절규인 곡입니다. 'Crucify my love / If my love is blind / Crucify my love / If it sets me free'라며, 화자는 자신의 사랑이 눈먼 것이라면, 그것이 자신을 자유롭게 한다면 차라리 그 사랑을 처형해 달라고 청합니다. 끝낼 수도 붙잡을 수도 없는 마음을 종교적 형벌의 이미지로 끌어올린 가사입니다.
