제5회 크런치롤 애니메 어워드에서 최우수 엔딩 시퀀스상을 받은 곡입니다. 같은 시상식에서 ALI는 『BEASTARS』의 「Wild Side」로 최우수 오프닝 시퀀스상까지 가져가, 한 밴드가 그해 오프닝과 엔딩을 동시에 차지했습니다.
곡은 『주술회전』 1기 1쿨 엔딩으로 쓰였습니다. 2020년 10월 선행 배신을 거쳐 11월 25일 소니뮤직레코즈에서 메이저 데뷔 싱글로 발매됐고, 오리콘 주간 28위와 빌보드 재팬 핫 100 최고 44위, 핫 애니메이션 주간 7위를 기록했으며 일본레코드협회의 유료 음악 배신 골드 인정을 받았습니다. 뮤직비디오는 2023년 2월 시점에 2000만 회를 넘겼습니다.
ALI는 2016년 시부야에서 결성된 밴드로, 힙합과 펑크, 소울, 재즈, 라틴을 한데 섞는 편성이 특징입니다. 보컬 LEO는 스페인과 영국, 일본에 뿌리를 두고 있고 멤버들의 국적도 카메룬과 가나, 홍콩, 필리핀, 인도네시아, 브라질 등으로 갈렸습니다. 밴드 이름은 복싱 선수 무하마드 알리의 부고 뉴스를 보다가 정했고, 2024년 10월부터는 LEO의 솔로 프로젝트 형태로 이어지고 있습니다.
가사는 도쿄를 감옥으로 부르는 데서 출발합니다. 「Tokyo prison」이라는 호명이 후렴마다 돌아오고, 객원 랩을 맡은 AKLO는 후반부에서 「東京HellからParadise」라며 그 지옥과 낙원 사이를 한 줄로 이어 붙입니다.
태도는 처음부터 끝까지 일관됩니다. 남에게 확인받을 것 없이 자기 판단만으로 벽을 부수라고 말하고, 요란한 가짜보다 조용히 증명하는 쪽을 택하겠다고 합니다. 잠들지 않고 자정을 넘겨 움직이며 이 삶이 만들어 내는 예술품이라 부르는 대목에 이르면, 제목의 낙원이 도달한 장소가 아니라 아직 헤매는 중인 장소라는 것이 분명해집니다. 작사에는 LEO와 AKLO를 포함한 네 사람이, 작곡에는 ALI와 AKLO가 참여했습니다.
